The Purposeful Bags are meant to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic in your everyday life. Made of recycled plastic, with one of Oaxaca's traditional weaving techniques, by former prisoners who are seeking to build an honest life for them and their families. They are paid fair wages, set by themselves.

Every single-use plastic bag is used an average of 12 minutes and it takes 500 years to biodegrade.

Keep the weaving tradition alive. 

Each of these handmade bags takes up to 11 hours to make and utilize a traditional weaving technique typical of the Oaxaca region.

Help reformed prisoners live an honest life. 

The artisans were taught the weaving technique while in prison and now are seeking to support their families by being contributing members of society.
